Not sure about the legality of these but I would be interested in opening one of these in the US perhaps in New York or LA. In general this discretion alone seems very attractive to many people

I have a question: Technically, the legal age to have sex/get married in Japan is 14. So are people the age of 14 and and teen years allowed to check into a love hotel?

Still those short visits. No 24 hour option? Is the rest option realistic even for a quick afternoon delight with your honey? She hardly has time to do her beauty routine before you have to go. No beauty princess would tolerate that. With the fairer sex comes the need for patience….

In Seattle city of USA, we can just get a motel for like $45-$85 for the whole night and check out like 10am the next day. There are even plenty of hookers on aurora to shop for. We don't care what the motel looks like on the inside. And we don't hide our license plates.

Hello, I have a question about this actually! I see posts talking about how this would be fun to just go to and stay by yourself or sing karaoke, which I totally agree with, but what if you for example wanted to invite friends over to hang out and also loudly sing karaoke or something? Since no human element checks you in I imagine often they don't watch you, but can you be limited/barred from entry with a larger or even small group, or with people of the same sex?

You didn't cover the subject that we were most confused by. We went to many love hotels the two times we went to Japan together. We sadly were only able to go to ones in Shibuya. We were looking for "stay" and most places wouldn't let you "Stay" till 10 PM. We would roll in on the place at 10 on the nose and all of the rooms would already be taken. Most of these places you can't reserve online so I didn't understand when and how we were supposed to be grabbing these rooms. We often had to bounce to multi hotels to find one with a room still open.

Are these for couples or do hookers use these hotels as well? How often do they change the sheets?
I've never been to Japan, but my parents met there in 1958. Apparently my question upset some folks. I was curious, in the USA rooms by the hour are used differently. Cultural questions are needed.
The last place you need is culture shock.
